What affects the price of a DSC?

• Certificate type — Signing-only is cheaper than a Combo (Sign + Encrypt). DGFT and Document Signer certificates cost more.
• Validity — a 3-year certificate costs more upfront but works out cheaper per year than renewing annually.
• USB token — a FIPS-compliant USB token is a one-time hardware cost, only needed if you don't already have one.
• Service & processing charges — small charges may apply on top of the certificate price.
• GST — applicable taxes may be included or added depending on the provider.

Tip: buying a longer validity (2 or 3 years) usually gives the best value, because you pay the service and token cost only once.
